Music tends to soothe the soul and brighten everyone’s day. There was always “music in the air” at Kelly High School. The marching band included 72 instruments while the concert band had 78 pieces. The marching band performed at the Sikeston Rodeo Parade, the Cotton Carnival Parade, the Jackson Band Festival, the Cape Homecoming Parade, and the Governor’s Parade in Charleston. After the marching season ended, the group prepared for the Sikeston Clinic and the Spring Concerts. The 35-piece Junior Band also performed at the Spring Concert.
