That’s My Life

That's My Life

I have had a wonderful life. One should not take this statement to mean that everything in my life has been perfect, as it has not. I grew up in a Christian home with loving Christian parents. I have a wonderful wife and a beautiful daughter with a great family. I have a loving sister and other relatives. (I lost my dear brother on July 13, 2020.) Finally, I have good friends that I can rely on. I have had many positive interventions in my life relating to my education, work, and personal life that I really do appreciate. I could go on and on, but I won’t!

I suppose that I am no different than most other mortals as I have had to deal with some horrible things in my life. I have experienced deaths of loved ones, war, illnesses, divorce, and other heartaches; however, the good in my life has definitely outweighed  the bad.

Please note that in GlenSpeak, I have divided the That’s My Life section into five sub-sections. Each of these sub-sections will be further divided into chapters.

  1. My Family
  2. My First 24 Years
  3. My Post Vietnam Years
  4. My Work Life
  5. My Retirement Years

Below is the introduction to a video that describes how I suffered from low self esteem and an inability to complete simple mechanical tasks while growing up. I had concluded that I was a complete failure. I eventually realized that God provides each of us with unique skills and abilities. In the end, all was well! This video was created more than ten years ago for a church project. I have captured short excerpts from the original 30 minute video and have included them into the appropriate sections or sub-sections of this website. Watch Video 1 of the original video that I titled Driven By a Father’s Mantra.

As an aside, one should note that, in this video, the Morrow family borrowed a moving van from the Joad family in 1947 and moved from Alabama to Missouri. (My apologies to John Steinbeck for my gratuitous reference to the Joad family from his great novel, “The Grapes of Wrath”!)

I have added a sub-menu system under the main menu to make navigation easier. If you are on the main menu tab on the left hand side of the page, you can simply place your cursor over the downward-pointing arrow ( ∨ ) that is to the right of the That’s My Life menu item and left-click and the five sub-section links above will appear. Select the sub-section that you would like to view. (Please forgive me for using windows terminology. I do realize that many people use tablets or phones and, therefore, use touch. I am an “old school” pc user and I still prefer using a mouse with my laptop!)

Alternatively, you can click directly on one of the five links above to view any of the sub-sections.

Note: On all pages, you can return to the top of the page by clicking the large black upward-pointing arrow on the bottom right corner of each page.
